Elements and Performance Criteria

  1. Prepare to manage critical incidents
  2. Incident/threat is analysed, prioritised and sequenced for the most efficient and effective outcome following consultation with others for completion within acceptable timeframes in accordance with workplace procedures
  3. Hazards and work health and safety (WHS)/occupational health and safety (OHS) risks are identified, assessed and prioritised, and control measures implemented and monitored in accordance with workplace procedures
  4. System constraints are identified for work sites in accordance with workplace procedures and communicated to relevant person/s
  5. Operational and commercial requirements are communicated to stakeholders in accordance with workplace procedures
  6. WHS/OHS, environmental and sustainable energy policies and procedures related to the work are identified to ensure safe systems of work are followed
  7. Communication with authorised person/s, authorities, clients and land owners is conducted and work coordinated in accordance with workplace procedures
  8. Implement incident response strategies
  9. Incident information regarding the scope and severity of the incident is obtained and recorded in accordance with workplace procedures
  10. Incident information is analysed and assessed and appropriate action taken in accordance with incident response strategy and workplace procedures
  11. WHS/OHS risks and incidents are identified and actioned in accordance with workplace procedures
  12. Communication with incident support services and relevant stakeholders is established in accordance with workplace procedures
  13. Actions are taken to reduce the effect of the incident to minimise threats to the public, pipeline, facilities and environment in accordance with requirements, incident response strategy and workplace procedures
  14. Incident is continually monitored and assessed for changes and responded to in accordance with incident response strategy and workplace procedures
  15. Complete procedures for managing critical incidents
  16. Debriefing is conducted with relevant person/s to review incident response procedures and develop recommendations for changes to workplace procedures, as required
